Although the driver was great, I wasn't happy with the Compare the Man and Van service, as they changed my driver last minute on the morning of my move. This defeats the whole point of a comparison website, and will mean I am likely to use a different website in the future.

Would definitely recommend Edward! He came early and called to let me know he was there, drove carefully and all with a big smile and very friendly approach. I’ve used this site before but Edward is the best, he’s very genuine and helpful and I will be using him again if I move.

My driver was very nice and considerate. However, he was given a job (by Man & Van) in Southampton at 1pm despite being needed for my move in London at 2:30pm on the same day... Thankfully, the driver called me around 1pm to let me know about this situation and we agreed to do the move at a later time. In the end, the driver arrived around 6:30pm, which does mean that most of my afternoon plans for moving and unpacking were spoiled. I would like to reiterate that I don't think it was the driver's fault as he was simply following the job list he had been give by Man & Van. I don't understand how Man & Van gave him this jobs however, and I am quite disappointed in the outcome. I used to love Man & Van services, but will now compare with others before booking.

Edward is by far the most wonderful and kind person I’ve ever met! This was a long distance move and he made the ride back fly. I highly recommend choosing him for moves and I will definitely contact him when I’ll need this type of service again.

We paid for two hours but the driver was very quick to rush us to get the items in the van 10 minutes after arriving. He also rushed the items out the other side. He didn't help load, which is fine because we didn't pay him to. He helped to unload though which was nice of him, although we were parked in a no-parking zone and didn't want to get a ticket. We gave him a service tip as thanks for helping to unload. He stopped for petrol during our move and kept looking through my window of the van (presumably to check I wasn't stealing anything). After 40 minutes the move was complete. Effective and efficient move for the most part but felt somewhat alienated by the driver.

A very friendly driver that couldn't have done more to help us. Was on time, wearing a mask and gloves, van was clean, great communication before the arrival (always picked up the phone and gave the information I needed straight away). I don't know if there were any straps or blankets but we didn't need any and didn't look for it. By the time I arrived, the driver was already helping to load very heavy cast iron garden furniture. I didn't pay for the loading service and did not expect it, but the driver helped anyway which was very nice of him. I would definitely recommend him as he's not only professional but a genuinely lovely person with the great sense of humour and charisma. When someone pays for specific services, you just offer him what he has payed for. Well, when you pay the driver to help you with loading , then he should help , and not stay still and staring.at you without giving a hand . The man helped me with a big set of drawers only . He also off load two boxes. I understand that I had more stuff as he mentioned but that's not his matter since.i load the van and fit them all. Overall , very bad service , and during the covid 19 , he must wear a mask at least . Thanks Driver's response: Response to clients complaint: 1. I called the customer before I left home 2. I arrived 30 minutes early 3. I called customer as soon as I arrived and let him know “I was ready when he is “ 4. Customer told me he needed help with a chest of drawers and I offered the help . 5. He did not ask for help with anything else and because he was being cold and unfriendly— I let him be. If he had requested help with anything else I would gladly give it . 6. As a matter of course, I always help my customers with their luggage whether or not they pay extra for it . I consider it as part of my job as well as being humane . If I were in their shoes — I would be glad to get assistance too. 7. Customer had a lot of stuff — the van was full to over flowing to the point that I could not fit my dolly in! When I brought this to his attention; he said “the dolly is not mine “ but later grudgingly created space for my dolly . 8. Customer had to carry 2 boxes on his lap as well as throw away a lot of remaining stuff because they could not fit into the van. I offered him a second trip but he declined . 9. On the issue of mask— it was a fabrication. I have a mask; gloves and sanitiser in my car at all times and I was wearing them . 10. On arrival at the “storage “ space in E16; I helped him to off load all his stuff . 11. Customer was in a bad mood because he was helping his girlfriend ( who was stranded in -Australia due to the Pandemic) to empty her flat . She had a lot more stuff than he anticipated and that got him in a very bad mood . 12. Finally , I would say — check my track record. Always arrive on time and always offer great service . I did 2 other jobs in the same day - Pls check with both customers or indeed any of my past customers and you will see that I take pride with my work . Thanks Edward

Edward arrived bang on time for my move from London to Reading then final stop in Sheffield. I booked a 6 hour trip and it all ran on time to schedule. Edward came in a medium van when I booked a small but I’m incredibly thankful he did and knows what he’s doing as my things would have not fitted in a small and I would have lost my money. I had to pay more but was happy to as my mistake for underestimating the amount of stuff I had! Lovely guy, great chat so helpful and polite would highly recommend!!!!

I think the thing is to always communicate what you are trying to do (with pictures if necessary) so that they have a clear expectation and there are no misunderstandings. Your driver can only help you if you first help them.

The van was not large enough to accommodate the list of things I had listed, so we had to make two trips, and he asked for double the money, even though the quote given was for the items listed. Furthermore, we completed the move to make sure it fit within the two hours asked for, yet he still asked for more money. He also didn't mention it until the end rather than the beginning of the move. I wouldn't suggest going with Edward. CMV response: We ask that you book the correct size van for your move and that you give a brief description of what you are moving purely to give the driver an idea of what to expect on the day. In addition, the quote you receive is not based on what you are moving but on distance; the length of the booking; the size of van; whether you need the driver to help you and if so, whether there are flights of stairs to be climbed by the driver with your goods. If you ask the driver to make more than one trip for you within the booked time, he is within his rights to charge his via stop fee for this, together with a small mileage charge for the additional mileage. The quote total for this booking was £27.
